Location: Preston

Hours: 40 hours per week – 4 on 4 off shift - hours example - Mon-Thurs 2pm-1am, Fri between 12noon-11pm, Saturday between 9am-9pm, Sunday am-8pm

Salary: Dependant on experience

Key duties/responsibilities:

  • Direct supervisor for the maintenance team.
  • Managing holidays, absence, shifts and arranging cover when required.
  • Be the first point of contact for the maintenance team.
  • General maintenance and repairs on mobile plant, including - Forklift trucks, 360 excavators and a range of other plant machinery on site.
  • General maintenance and repairs on fixed plant, including - conveyors, shredders, granulators and other general recycling plant machinery.
  • Ensuring critical spares stock is reported.
  • Ensure repair sheets are completed.
  • Follow all Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Work to a maintenance schedule, recording all tasks complete.
  • Attend breakdowns, diagnose faults and fix.
  • Advise operators on basic operator maintenance and optimising how to run the machines.
  • Additional ad-hoc duties when and where required.

Skills required:

  • Previous supervisor / manager experience
  • Previous experience in recycling machinery maintenance
  • Confident in dealing with a wide variety of machinery
  • Enjoys working outdoors in a busy environment
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic and demonstrate a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Health and Safety conscious
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good time management
  • Good organisation skills
  • Has a can do, positive attitude
