Members are reminded of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the primary piece of legislation covering occupational health and safety in Great Britain.

It sets out the responsibilities which employers have towards employees and members of the public as well as those that employees have for themselves and to each other.

A key element of these responsibilities from the employer side is ensuring that all employees are given and made to wear the appropriate PPE for each of the tasks that they carry out.
