The Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) is in the process of studying the positive environmental effects of recycling for all the materials within BIR's portfolio.

The BIR's divisions and committees cover ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, including stainless scrap, recovered paper, waste plastics, waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), batteries and textiles.

The purpose of the study is to illustrate the emission and resource savings which can be achieved through recycling.

BIR have commissioned KPMG to produce the report on behalf of BIR.

To ensure KPMG's findings are as accurate as possible, they are seeking up-to-date primary data from industry. As a result, KPMG have designed a survey for each of the material streams which they are analysing.

We are asking you to help BIR and the global recycling industry by completing the surveys for the material streams you recycle on a regular basis.

Please note that KPMG is acting on behalf of the Bureau of International Recycling and is under a confidentiality agreement that covers the information shared in the surveys.
