With eight new appointees taking their seats at the table and four retirements, it's all change on the BMRA Board.
Following its Annual General Meeting, British Metals Recycling Association has seen a number of changes to its board of directors. There are eight new board members who all join for a three-year term. They are:
- Nigel O’Gorman, F J Church
- Roger Morton, S. Norton & Co Ltd
- Andrew Brady, EMR
- Alan Waugh, William Waugh
- Sue Howell, Wye Valley Metal
- James Nicholls, C F Booth
- Anthony Brewster, Metal Interests
- Tom Bird, Liberty Metal Recycling.
The new board appointees join returning members: Susie Burrage, Recycled Products (President); John Rice, Metal and Waste Recycling (Vice President); Shane Mellor, Mellor Metals; Adrian Dodds, S Sackers (Claydon); Graham Davy, Lifecycle Solutions; Mark Vaughan, ELG Haniel; Alasdair Jackson, Recycling Lives; and, Jake Adam, John R Adam.
At the same time, four Board members stepped down: Graeme Carus of EMR, Stan Whittaker of Morley Waste Traders, Jack Gomarsall of Network2Supplies Ltd and John Boyd of JSB Metal Ltd.
BMRA Chief executive Robert Fell said: “We are extremely grateful for all the work and tireless support given by Graeme, Stan, Jack and John. Their advice and guidance has proved invaluable, especially when the sector is facing challenges as impactful as the introduction of the Scrap Metal Dealers Act.
“Given the challenges the sector is facing now, and will continue to face in the years ahead, it is heartening to know that the secretariat will continue to have the support of a strong and invigorated board.”
