HGV licence bootcamp
BMRA members have a unique opportunity to access the last few remaining places on three Government-subsidised HGV licence Bootcamp courses.
Depending on the size of your company, you could receive up to 90% off the cost of the training.
There are three training routes on offer:
- Novice to Category C
- Novice to Category C+E
- Category C to Category C+E (upgrade).
HGVC Bootcamp courses take place over a maximum of 16 weeks and include every test and module needed to be a full HGV Driver:
- Medical
- Theory and Hazard Perception training and test
- CPC Mod 2
- CPC Mod 4
- 20 hours in a Class 2 Vehicle or 32 hours practical training in a Class 1 Vehicle.
- Practical tests (3a and 3b)
All Bootcamp courses also include a free re-test for each module, as well as access to two additional webinars regarding life as an HGV driver.
BMRA partner HGVC manages all aspects of the training from start to finish with employers able to track the progress of every driver via a bespoke portal. The courses are offered nationwide at any of its 90 training centres across the UK. Depending on the route taken, the maximum amount of time a learner will be away from the business is eight days
This funding is primarily for drivers and companies within England. However, the funded training can be used for staff based in Wales and Scotland if companies meet one of two conditions:
- Have a depot based in England; or
- Travel into England to deliver goods or services/collect or drop off waste metal.
