The Fundamentals of Metallurgy course will take place on 2 May.

It will be held at the BMRA offices in Huntingdon. The course will start at 9.30am and last all day and lunch will be provided. Delivered by AMRC, this course will be informative for those new to the scrap metal business and for those looking to refresh their knowledge. It covers the following areas:

  • Review of existing knowledge

  • Structure and properties of metals

  • Environmental degradation: oxidation and corrosion

  • The metals lifecycle: Processing of metals

  • Casting and forging

  • Heat treatment

  • Choosing the right metals: Applications of metals
