4 - 9 November 2024

The 4-9 November is Green Careers Week.

To celebrate, BMRA is looking to showcase some of the roles within the metal recycling industry, with a view to covering a wider range in the future.

You may remember that we shared some great case studies last year.

You can read them here.

We would like to hear from people who do the following roles:

  • Yard Operative – particularly if they have completed or are working towards the Metal Recycling General Operative apprenticeship
  • Trader - either in a yard or working for a trading company
  • Yard manager/TCM
  • Export manager or anyone involved with managing the export of metals

We would ask that you answer the following questions, either by sending us the answers, or we can chat over the phone:

  • How long have you have been doing the role?
  • How did you get into the role? Did you come from a different sector?
  • What qualifications or experience and /or specific training did you require for the role?
  • What skills do you need for the role?
  • Who would this role suit?
  • What advice do you have for anyone looking to start a Green Career?

Also, if you are happy to do so, please share your educational background, we would like to show the range and inclusivity of the industry.

To take part, please get in touch with Kate via email: [email protected].

If you don't do a role listed above, but want to take part, please get in touch as we eventually want to cover as many roles as we can.
