Learn how members can access the Government's Industrial Energy Transformation Funding.
The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) recently held a webinar for BMRA members to explain how they can access funding from the Industrial Energy Transformation Fund (IETF).
The IETF is a key Government fund that helps UK businesses to improve energy efficiency, industrial processes and cut carbon emissions as part of the Net Zero agenda. This could include improvements made within the site boundary for changes such as electrification of plant.
Delivered by Lily Tozer, Head of Industrial Energy Transformation Fund Capacity Building at BEIS and Jenni McDonnell, Knowledge Transfer Network, the IETF delivery partner, the webinar provides organisations in the metals recycling sector with all the information they need to be able to bid for IETF funding. This includes:
- An overview of the fund and the new competition window
- Scope for competition funding
- Eligibility criteria
- How to make an application for funding
- IETF support and information services available.
The deadline for applications for phase 2 is 29 April 2022.

While the current round, Phase 2, does not include improvements outside of the site boundary, such as connecting to the grid, BMRA will endeavour to persuade BEIS to include this in Phase 3.
