  • Training Yard Operators in the sorting of aluminium for furnace smelting and keeping the yard clean
  • Supervise and maintain site

  • Supervise and delegate to Automet’s staff members
  • Management of container loading and international customers
  • Ensure smooth operations of the site and staff working within
  • First Aider
  • Operation of cranes
  • Sorting of goods coming inwards
  • Ensuring ferrous metals are loaded correctly
  • Sorting out loads and unloading wagons
  • Dealing with customers and the public
  • Ongoing training
  • Following quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules & regulations
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job

What is the hardest part of your job?  

Getting WhatsApps at 10 /11 pm off shredders ☹.

  • Team work and walkie talkies for excellent communication 
  • The right specialised equipment and machinery

What are you most proud of in your career?  

Working with some of the best scrappers around the world.

What are the best and worst things about the metals recycling sector?

Bad loads is the worst part of my job and good loads are the best part of my job 😊.

What is the best advice you have ever received?

If you want to achieve something great, it’s not going to be easy. 😊
