Young British Metals Recyclers (YBMR) committee member, Tom Higginbottom, has joined BMRA service member SGM Magnetics S.P.A as its new UK Sales Manager for Recycling and Separation. 

With 8 years of experience in magnetic separation and a deep understanding of the UK recycling market, Tom brings strong technical expertise and a passion for innovation to his role at SGM Magnetics. 

In his new role, Tom will engage with new and existing clients, offering tailored metal separation solutions and dedicated support across the UK.

Tom has also been an active committee member of the YBMR for the past two years, supporting the next generation of metal recyclers. During that time YBMR has hosted two conferences and numerous visits for members such as to the Royal Mint, the LME and AO recycling. 

Of his new role Tom said: “Having been in the industry a while, I’ve come to know who the serious players are when it comes to equipment manufacturers. I’ve gained a deep understanding of the separation equipment available on the market, it’s pro’s and con’s, and the service behind it. Customers have also shared their experiences – what works well and who provides the best overall service. Over my 8 years in the industry, I took all of that on board. In the end, there was only one place I was going - SGM.”
