Tuesday 5 November,
YBMR has secured a visit to William Cook Castings in Sheffield (postcode S9 4UL).
Taking place on Tuesday 5 November, ten YBMR members will have the chance to visit the UK's largest manufacturer of steel castings. The group will be given a tour of the Sheffield facility where high-specification castings in specialist alloys for industries like energy, infrastructure and other high-tech engineering activities are made.
It is also an opportunity to understand the use of scrap within the casting process.
Places will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis. This trip is open members of YBMR.
The visit is free of charge. But visitors will have to provide their own transport to and from William Cook and must be able to arrive by 09:30am. Attendees must also bring their own PPE – steel toe caps, safety glasses and high vis.
Due to the expected popularity of this trip, we will initially only accept bookings of one delegate per BMRA member.
